What is the BITCON?
BITCON is the annual conference for the the Blacks In Technology community. It is a tech conference (not to be confused with a diversity conference) attended by hundreds of technology associated individuals.
Who should attend?
If you work in information technology (IT) or for a tech company, this conference is for you. If you don’t fall into those categories, don’t worry, you’re not alone. There will be plenty of student, entrepreneurs, policy makers, gamers, afro-futurists and techies of all stripes to network and connect with.
Do you suggest I seek sponsorship from my company?
Yes! The best way to attend BITCON is on someone else’s dime. We’ve even created a letter template that you can use to present to your manager or human resources leader to help with your justification. You can download it here:
What does the registration fee include?
The standard ticket fee includes general admission to all sessions, keynotes, and workshops. It also includes plated lunch 9/6 and 9/7, as well as access to the 9/5 welcome reception and after party, 9/6 awards dinner, and 9/7 BIT Block Party Urban Trivia and Karaoke closing. Other activations may be included on an invite only basis. VIP tickets also include 3 nights at the host hotel, JW Marriott Nashville, as well as access to VIP exclusive activations during the conference.
What is the refund policy for BITCON?
Tickets can be refunded until 9/4/23 minus the associated ticket purchase processing fee by Eventbrite.
Are group discounts available for BITCON?
Yes! Bring the whole team. If you are a group of 5 or more and you are interested in group rate discounts, please contact dennis@blacksintechnology.org for additional details.
When is the registration deadline for the BITCON?
You can register until 9/4 online. Not onsite registration will be available.
What and where is the host hotel?
The host hotel is the JW Marriott Nashville 201 8th Ave S, Nashville, TN 37203.
What can I expect from the program?
You can expect BITCON 2023 to be 75% 25% block party. Our goal is to educate, inspire and spotlight Black excellence in tech. The conference is designed to provide tangible, practical, actionable resources that can be applied to advance your career or your venture. We also value and place a priority on networking in both formal and informal settings. In short, there will be something for everyone.
Who should I contact regarding speaker opportunities at BITCON?
There are two ways you can speak at BITCON. 1) Corporate sponsors at the Gold level and above have the opportunity to speak at the conference and 2) speakers selected via our call for papers selections process will speak at BITCON. When do you suggest I arrive in Nashville and when is BITCON’s last event?
The ideal time to arrive in Nashville is 2:00PM CST Sept. 5th. This gives you plenty of time to check into your hotel and be refreshed for the welcome reception and after party. The last event is the Urban Trivia and Karaoke Block Party the evening of Sept. 7th. We highly encourage you to stay for this! Fly back Friday Sept 8th.
